Pupuba is a very unusual name - tell us about it. (Hi! My name is Pupuba.) I always have people asking me how I got my name. Actually, there is no specific meaning of my name. I have this name to impress people and let them know how unique I am!
I see from looking through your MySpace portfolio that you've been modeling since you were a little girl. Tell me about your modeling career. From my portfolio, you can see that some of those photos were taken when I was young. You might think that I’ve done modeling since I was a little girl. It was really a long story. I already knew what I’d like to be when I was a little girl. Yet I had never been supported by my parents who got very traditional thinking; they always thought there was no way for me to be a model because of my height.
Their thoughts had beaten my confidence for a while even though I got lots of compliments from people around me. I had my first shots at 16. People who saw my photos all recommended me to send my photos to modeling agencies. Yet my parents just didn’t feel like it. So I didn’t get chance to get into the modeling career.
Later on, I found that my desire for modeling has been getting stronger and stronger. So I started to promote myself without telling my parents. This is how I get into the career and I really love my job! My parents have become very supportive since I got into modeling. Same as my friends. I feel very appreciated and want to thank them all for being so supportable.
Why did you decide to move to Canada from Taiwan? The decision that I made to move to Canada was a sudden. I had aspired to speak fluently English and to have the same life style with western people. Maybe I’ve seen too many western movies. (Ha!)But that was the reason drove me to move to Canada. I still remembered the day we landed in Canada was my birthday.
I see you're a hockey fan - how did you grow to love hockey so much?
Talk about being a hockey fan, I have to start another story. I didn’t like hockey at all the first 2 year I moved to Canada. I could even say that I hate it especially the year that Canada won the cup. (I honestly feel bad to say it right now.) This feeling had continued till I met a guy who was a hockey fan and did play hockey sometimes. I think that as like what people normally say,” Once you love one guy, you’ll love everything he has or he likes.” and I was like that. The funny thing was even we aren’t together anymore, but I still love hockey!
How does it feel to be The Silly Princess? Being a silly princess is actually an attractive thing. How many times that you’ve seen girls calling themselves sexy princess and how many times for the silly princess? I made myself a silly princess to catch people’s attention. Also, I made “silly” this word not sound that negative anymore! Haha!
Please describe the perfect date.
A perfect date…I‘d say I’ve never had a perfect one.ahaha joking. But I think the point to have a perfect date is that both the guy and the girl feel comfortable with each other. There is no need to spend lots of money on a perfect date. Just remember one thing that LOVE is the thing a date needs!
Tell me about your trip to Las Vegas. Trip to Las Vegas was like a dream. It was actually how I started my modeling career. I went to this so-called fashion show in Las Vegas. I experienced meeting those top agents and super models and had a good understanding of this career looked like. It was a big turnover of my life I’d say.
What was it like growing up with 6 male cousins?
Growing up with 6 male cousins was really crazy and fun! It actually made me not feel like a girl because I was always with males. In my memories, I couldn’t even remember if I had played Barbie girls during my childhood. I knew I played a lot of video games, and street fighter is my favorite game. I also play poker game, basketball and watch dragon ball, etc with my cousins all the time.
What is a normal day like for you? For me, a normal day is like working and studying. Not really get any fun thing involved. I am glad I don’t really get that many normal days..ahah
Where do you work? I am now a part time model and a part time waitress at a Thai food restaurant. I love both jobs because they get me to meet more people. I’d say I am good at socializing, but no alcohol and no drugs are being involved.
Do you have any children, any pets?
I am single as always..Ahaha... No kids for me. I’ve always got my friends told me how lonely they are. It is very interesting that I don’t think I’ve ever felt lonely. Maybe I am too busy to be lonely? Haha.
I have 4 white maltase. I love small dogs. Those big dogs I’ve seen in Canada are even bigger than me and I am really scared of them.
Other than hockey - what else do you like to do for fun?
About my interests, I’d say I am open for almost everything as long as I am with someone, and Family is always on my top spot. There is something I want to address. I would like to go to fashion design school after I am done with my university. It has been my goal for a long time. I also like to dance. Hip hop is the one that I am so crazy about. My favorite artist is Usher who is an amazing hip hop dancer...
Tell us more about you - what would you like the world to know about you? I was born in a four-member family- my parents, one older sister and I. Since I am the youngest in my family, I am just like a princess who is always being spoiled. (I have to make a note here. I am not actually like those spoiled girls if you know me well enough...hehe) I used to be very fussy about my appearance. I always wish I could be taller then I could get more chances in modeling. Yet I’ve realized how lucky I am. When my friends are shopping hard for those cosmetic products, and I am always the one who get bored watching at them. I seldom use cosmetic products, but I still get nice skin- no pimples and no freckles. Now I feel very confident with myself since no one is perfect!
OK - the men want to know - what does the Silly Princess look for in a man? About the guy I am looking for. I like those ones as other girls do. I like guys who are faithful, respectful, caring, and the most important thing, love my family and my friends. I dislike flirters.
What is your ultimate goal? My goal is to go to fashion design school. Since modeling career is limited, I might want to be a makeup artist or fashion designer after. Or I might have my own agency to promote other models. It took me a while to get into this career and I want to keep myself in as long as I can. And I think it’ll be my pleasure to help other models out!
If you could go anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go and why? If I could go somewhere in the world tomorrow, I’d love to visit Europe. It is a high-fashion country, especially in Italy. I know it’d help me with my modeling a lot if I were there.
You write very interesting stories about lots of different topics - what inspires the stories you write? Are any of them based on true stories? Those stories in my blog aren’t all true stories. I like to write stories whenever I get time even I am not a good writer. (I think that’s why I didn’t publish my stories...ahaha) What type of modeling do you enjoy the most (fashion photos, swimsuit, runway, sexy spreads, artistic layouts, theme shots, or other) I like almost every type of modeling, except nude. I am not into nude. I think people can still be sexy or looking good with taking their clothes off. I love most about modeling is it gives me confidence.
What was you proudest moment as a model? The proudest moment as a model was that I could always look good even with very light makeup! What do you think is your best feature?My best feature is my skin. I got lots of people me that I have the best skin ever. Even the photospheres I’ve been working with, did mention about it as well. Who are your favorite famous models? What do you like about them?
Tyra Banks is my favorite model. She has had a very successful modeling career. And now she is helping those girls who want to be model get exposure; this is what I’d like to do later. What is the most important thing in your life right now?
The most important thing in my life right now is my family, my friends and my career; I don’t think I can live without any of them!
Have you ever been in love? Yes I have ever been in love even though it was short.
What is the sexiest thing about men? What is the sexiest thing about women?
I think the sexiest thing about both men and women knows how to express themselves well.
Have you ever had a sexual encounter with another woman? If not - would you like to.
Ahaha.I have never thought about having a sexual encounter with another woman since I am totally go for guys.
