When I speak to you in timbr'd tongue and call out to you with my pitched base; when I address you in melancholy but yet also... regard you with an up-tempo'd appreciation...
It's because I care, ‘cause it's no-longer "Just An Illusion" - the au natural chords that I live by, you give to me with giddy strings (lol).
Check it!
I ain't got love for tired tracks once played, and ain't got room for old hits once laid... I only want you, with me making soothing sounds like Kem(istry!). --- my old ways are now "Gravity!"
I done tango'd in the Havana's, and strung Madison's quartets, done sung with the greatest Stars and now I've "Fallen" for you without any regrets --- Count [my] Basie's (they're all for you!)
Let me have my Fit(z)geralds and spend endless time with you afar with Monks, and get Dizzy w/h you & Gillespie as we ride Everlasting Ways together; along the Miles on Davis' Rd., hell...
even take you back to school and call up a resurgence and dance and swing the nights away; maybe even call up the Duke and have him
us a "William's Handy beat!"
I just don't want to loose you...
Been through Muddy Waters and wadded through the Holiday's with Porgy and Best, done met the Hills' and ran a mile w/h the Baker's, stood like Nightingales in all the theatres, but was always alone ‘cause I never had you: "My whole Arm(s)Strong - you're my bearcat!"
I'ma baby grand, but I'm keyless without you; ain't got a dime to play a record, but still got you (a dame) to my name to record unconditional loves... I'm Whishing on A Star to love you more than an Oscar, I miss being with you...
Our feelings ain't tied up into duets, hell I'm a "Good[man] like Benny" and don't got reason to do you wrong, just give me a chance, and you'll see..
When I speak to you in timbr'd tongue and call out to you with my pitched base; yet also... regard you with an up-tempo'd appreciation...
It's ‘cause I care, because it's no-longer "Just An Illusion" - the au natural chords that I live by, you give to me with giddy strings - and I owe you for that dearly, I love you soulfully!
