Chief Justice John Roberts will go down in history not for his brilliant legal mind - but for screwing up the most historic Inauguration in American History. 

What went through that man's mind at that moment?  Was it just "oops", or was it "oh shit!"?  Did he want to run off-stage and cry, or did he just brush it off and say to himself, "No big deal - nobody noticed".  Either way, you have to feel just a little sorry for the guy.

Not too sorry - because honestly, it's not like he had a difficult job to do.  In fact, considering what everyone else had to do - he had one of the easiest jobs of anyone on that stage.  He didn't even have to memorize his lines!  Have you ever taken an open book test?  Did you fail it?  OK - imagine failing an open book SPELLING TEST.  Imaging someone asking you to spell A - B - C, and getting it wrong!!

Had he done it right, people would forget about the fact that he was appointed by one of the least popular Presidents in American History, and remember him as the man who swore in America's first (and hopefully not last) Black President.  Now he'll be remembered as the man who screwed up the swearing in ceremony so bad that he had to do it again the next day!! 

Imagine sitting down with your grandchildren, and telling them that you were a major part of one of the most defining moments in American history.  Now, Justice Roberts' grandkids will have to live down the humiliation of watching their grandfather screw up in front of millions.  Well kids, he may not be the most articulate Chief Justice in Supreme Court history - but he is the first one to win the eFFey Award!
